Hello, I'm Sofia

I work as a project manager, a parent, and an expat in Lisbon, Portugal.

Several years ago I moved here with my family. What began as a short-term assignment gradually became a new phase of life overseas.

How It Began

Moving to Portugal wasn't in the grand plan. Like many international relocations, it started as a work chance and soon grew into something far larger.

The initial months were demanding — new systems, new routines, new expectations. Everyday tasks felt more complex than expected.

The Adjustment Period

There was culture shock, uncertainty, and a lot of learning on the fly. Yet gradually, routines took shape. We found places that fit us, connected with other families, and began shaping something that felt steady.

Why I Built LucidMeadowFrame

Most online resources were either corporate-level relocation guidance or shallow tourist content. What was missing was an honest, everyday family viewpoint.

This site exists to bridge that gap — practical guidance drawn from real life in Portugal.

What This Site Is (And Isn't)

This site IS:

  • Hands-on experience from living in Portugal
  • Centered on family life and everyday realities
  • Refreshed whenever something truly changes

This site ISN'T:

  • An official tourism authority resource
  • A sponsored review platform
  • A generic travel blog

Looking Ahead

Our stay in Portugal continues, and so does the learning journey. As long as the information remains useful, I’ll keep recording what we uncover.

If you have questions about family life in Lisbon or anywhere in Portugal, feel free to reach out.

Cheers,

Sofia
